Grape Varieties: 100% Blaufränkisch
Soil: chalky loam und lime stone
Dark ruby-garnet. Sour cherry and blackberry with a hint of minerals. Full bodied with a recognisable acidity and good structure, but still easy to drink.
Food-Wine-Tipp: Fresh Pasta, Charcuterie, stews, roasted vegetables, grilled meat or solo, classic Austrian cuisine.
Vinification: The grapes were handpicked at the beginning of October. The Grapes have been destemmed and mashed into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. After Pressing, malolactic and 12 months of ageing were done in big wooden casks of 20 hl.
Alcohol: 13,0 Vol% Acidity:5,2 g/l
Vintage:
Many parallels can be drawn to the 2012 vintage. It was hot and dry throughout the year resulting in a solid bloom and large yields. The wines finished under 13,5% and were fresh and precise with great balance.
